The teenage son of Rafał Trzaskowski, the Mayor of Warsaw and Deputy Chairman of the Civic Platform, will not be attending health education classes—because his parents withdrew him. This information has been confirmed by Niezalezna.pl from two independent sources. “He was withdrawn as one of the first. In fact, the entire class gave up on health education,” our source said.
Since Rafał Trzaskowski’s son is still under 18, it was his parents who had to decide on his withdrawal from the classes. The teenager attends one of the better Warsaw high schools (name known to the editorial staff).
“He was withdrawn as one of the first. In fact, the entire class gave up on health education,” our source repeated.
During the election campaign, when asked about health education—promoted by his party colleagues—Rafał Trzaskowski said:
“I believe that of course such health education is necessary, but it should be voluntary—the decision here should be left to parents. Yes—I think—that will be better for all of us.”
That the government’s attempt, under Donald Tusk, to introduce a new school subject has ended in complete failure is shown by the data coming in from schools.
For example, according to preliminary estimates from the Opole Board of Education, nearly half of the students in that region will not attend health education classes. In Rzeszów, fewer than 19 percent of students signed up for the new subject. In three high schools, there was zero interest at all.
Minister Barbara Nowacka admitted that if, on October 10, it turns out that fewer than half of the students are attending health education classes—she will not be surprised.
