Tusk Absent from Joint Briefing in Paris: Polish Prime Minister Holds Separate Press Conference

After the meeting of the “Coalition of the Willing” in Paris, Donald Tusk did not take part in the joint press conference. “He is not a welcome leader of Poland on the international stage, and his presence during key talks is marginal,” said Sebastian Kaleta on the program Guest Today.

“A separate press conference after such a meeting is unprecedented and recalls last year’s situation in Kyiv, when Chancellor Merz and President Macron traveled together by train, while Donald Tusk rode in a separate car,”

Sebastian Kaleta said on Danuta Holecka’s program.

The program’s guests also commented on the fact that Donald Tusk spoke favorably about President Karol Nawrocki and emphasized the need for good cooperation. He also announced that he would encourage the President to engage in joint actions and talks.

“I get the impression that Donald Tusk was sharply reprimanded by other European leaders and was practically instructed to ensure that the person who has excellent relations with the White House within the European Union, namely President Karol Nawrocki, be brought by the Polish government into these talks,”

added the PiS MP.

“There is no doubt that the Prime Minister’s appeal and his call for cooperation in the context of establishing peace in Ukraine constitute a step toward de-escalating relations between centers of power. Making joint use of the President’s strong relations in the United States and the Prime Minister’s standing in Europe will certainly enable our country to pursue a coherent and aligned policy on peace in Ukraine,”

emphasized Adam Nowak, Deputy Minister of Agriculture from the Polish People’s Party (PSL).
