Tusk’s PR Team Backfires: Premier Caught Copying President Nawrocki’s Viral Youth Challenge

Are Tusk’s “beg-for-likes” stunts a new way of boosting the prime minister’s popularity among young people? This time he seems to be trying to compete with President Karol Nawrocki by copying a situation in which the head of state recently took part. The question is: will Tusk keep his promise, given that he set conditions of his own?

Not long ago, there was an image-polishing campaign featuring Donald Tusk giving a gift “from grandpa” to a child born through the government-funded IVF program. The excitement quickly faded once it turned out that the state had already run out of money for the project. The prime minister’s PR team took the easy route and apparently decided that old, proven tricks are the safest bet. In the background, a rivalry for public sympathy with President Karol Nawrocki is increasingly noticeable.

During a post-match meeting with young people, Tusk agreed to… go out for pizza with them. But he went for a shortcut. He set two conditions: it had to take place in Gdańsk, because “that will be simplest,” and the video they posted needed to collect 500,000 likes.

The question remains whether he will keep his promise.

Previously, Civic Coalition politicians had mocked such stunts.

Comments immediately appeared under the post accusing the prime minister of collecting so-called “beg-for-likes.” “I don’t want to ruin the fun, but the President of Poland was the first politician to take part in something like this, and now the rest are trying to imitate him,” Wojtek correctly pointed out.

Here’s what the original looked like

At the opening of the school year, students from the elementary school in Wolanów invited President Karol Nawrocki to visit them again—this time in a less formal setting. They wanted to go out together for a kebab in a town near Radom. Surprised by their idea, Nawrocki said that four likes would be enough. He first asked whether they serve good kebab there. He also revealed that he likes it with mixed meat and spicy sauce.

“Promises must be kept,” the president emphasized.

But that wasn’t the end of the youth challenges. At another public event, students from the Jan Karski High School in Wiśniowa Góra asked how many likes would be needed for the president to come to their school. Nawrocki decided to raise the bar and promised he would visit them once their video reaches 142,784 likes.
