TV Republika News: ABW (Internal Security Agency) and SKW (Military Counterintelligence Service) plan to enter the Presidential Palace. It concerns the head of the BBN (National Security Bureau).
According to journalists from TV Republika, officers of the Internal Security Agency (ABW) and the Military Counterintelligence Service (SKW) are to enter the Presidential Palace. “The aim of this operation would be to discredit the head of the National Security Bureau, Prof. Sławomir Cenckiewicz,” revealed TV Republika’s head of publishers, Jarosław Olechowski.
Olechowski added that the issue concerns the security clearance of Prof. Cenckiewicz, which grants him access to classified information.
Although a court ruling confirmed that Cenckiewicz holds these clearances and they have not been revoked, both Donald Tusk and the heads of SKW continue to question his access to classified information – Olechowski emphasized.
According to TV Republika, reports of security services entering the Presidential Palace are being circulated among journalists, which may indicate an attempt to exert media pressure on Prof. Cenckiewicz. A day before Karol Nawrocki was sworn in as President of Poland, the Chancellery of the Prime Minister filed cassation appeals to the Supreme Administrative Court against the rulings of the Provincial Administrative Court from June 17 of this year regarding the withdrawal of security clearances for access to classified information for Mr. Sławomir Cenckiewicz.
A narrative was launched that Prof. Cenckiewicz had been deprived of these clearances, which was supposed to mean a decline in the status of the National Security Bureau. Lawyers “steamrolled” such an interpretation, advising the staff of the Prime Minister’s Chancellery to educate themselves.
President Karol Nawrocki addressed these actions in his first TV interview after being sworn in, given to TV Republika.
“We will see how this situation develops. Prof. Cenckiewicz won in court, he has full rights to hold security clearances. He is an excellent Polish official, a scholar who has already suffered political repression as an academic, and also my advisor,” he said in TV Republika.
“I had high hopes that this would all end once he became head of the National Security Bureau and won his court case. That did not happen – there is an attempt at confrontation with the head of the BBN. Prof. Cenckiewicz is and will remain the head of the National Security Bureau, because he has excellent qualifications and knows how to safeguard the security of Polish men and women. And of course, we will handle such situations in accordance with the law,” added President Nawrocki.
