“Here in the state of Texas in the United States, many topics are being discussed that are also fundamental for us in Poland, such as freedom of speech and media freedom,” said Michał Rachoń while reporting on the participation of TV Republika in Conservative Political Action Conference, the world’s most important gathering of conservatives. “There is a lot of talk here about our station, because many people are curious how we managed to achieve such success despite so many political and economic obstacles,” added Tomasz Sakiewicz.
“We are speaking with people connected to business and marketing, who are interested in the media market in Poland. They are observing our financing model and see that the Polish market is very dynamic and promising,” said Tomasz Sakiewicz.
He emphasized that the entire success of TV Republika is owed to its viewers and donors, who co-create the station by providing funds for its operation and development.
As Michał Rachoń pointed out, the largest conservative television networks in the United States operate on a similar financing model, which is why they are very interested in how it works in Poland. He added that behind the scenes, discussions are constantly taking place about capital support for conservative media worldwide, including in Poland.
“Together with our viewers, we have built a television station that is currently the most-watched news channel in Poland, and also the most-watched conservative news channel in Europe. This is a huge success, which is why it attracts so much interest here,” explained Jarosław Olechowski.
The President of TV Republika, Tomasz Sakiewicz, also stated that financial matters are linked to ongoing repression against the station.
“In the past 48 hours, the National Broadcasting Council has sought to impose fines on us and seize our bank accounts. This is the result of pressure exerted on regulatory bodies by politicians,” noted Tomasz Sakiewicz, announcing that further details on the situation would be provided soon.
