TV Republika aired what it claims is a conversation involving a member of Warsaw Mayor Rafał Trzaskowski’s presidential campaign team. The exchange reportedly centers on drugs. Michał Marcinkiewicz, the campaign staffer allegedly involved, denies any participation. “The presented correspondence is not mine,” he stated on platform X.
The station aired screenshots of the alleged chat on Monday. The following messages were displayed:
— Got anything?
— I do.
— Write what you like.
— What do you have?
— Meph and drops.
According to TV Republika, “meph” stands for mephedrone, while “drops” is a slang term for LSD. The station claims the user marked in blue in the screenshots is Marcinkiewicz.
Marcinkiewicz Responds
Marcinkiewicz strongly denies the allegations, stating: “The presented correspondence is not mine. This is a brazen forgery meant to discredit me and undermine my credibility.”
“I am immediately referring the matter to the prosecutor’s office and the court—this is a blatant violation of my personal rights,” he announced.
He went on to say that “this type of operation is all too familiar from the PiS era.” He cited the example of Senator Krzysztof Brejza, whose messages were allegedly fabricated using state funds and intelligence services. “This is no coincidence—it’s a gangster-like and cynical political tactic that has no place in a democratic state and will not be tolerated,” wrote the staffer for the Civic Platform vice-chair.
