TV Republika, a Polish conservative television network, has taken a bold step to broaden its funding avenues by establishing a foundation in the United States. The move is aimed at making it easier for the station’s supporters across the Atlantic to contribute financially, while also providing donors with potential tax benefits.
The decision comes in the wake of the station’s recent relocation to a new headquarters, equipped with state-of-the-art technology funded primarily by viewer contributions. According to TV Republika, these donations totaled several million złoty, highlighting the station’s reliance on public support for its operations. Now, with the creation of the TV Republika Foundation Inc. in the U.S., the network hopes to tap into the generosity of the Polish diaspora.
Simplifying Contributions for American Donors
Jarosław Olechowski, chief editor at TV Republika, announced the development via social media, explaining the advantages for American donors. “Through the TV Republika Foundation, which now holds an account in a U.S. bank, our viewers in the United States can support us without incurring international transfer fees,” he stated. “Additionally, donations to the foundation can be deducted from U.S. taxes as charitable contributions.”
This innovative approach addresses common barriers faced by international donors and reflects the station’s effort to connect with Poles living abroad. By streamlining the donation process and offering tax incentives, TV Republika positions itself as an accessible platform for supporters beyond Poland’s borders.
A Growing Network of Foundations
The U.S. foundation complements the network’s existing non-profit entity in Poland, established in June 2024. The Polish foundation is overseen by Jan Rachoń, with prominent figures like station head Tomasz Sakiewicz and journalist Piotr Lisiewicz serving on its board.
The expansion of fundraising efforts marks a significant milestone in TV Republika’s journey. Known for its focus on conservative values, the station continues to build its presence on the global stage while strengthening ties with the Polish community abroad.
