Under Tusk: “Expensive. More Expensive.” Poland Braces for the Priciest Holidays in Years [VIDEO]

We will have the most expensive holidays in history. You are all already experiencing this – you are shopping and seeing how much the food products necessary for Christmas Eve dinner cost,” said Law and Justice (PiS) MP Zbigniew Kuźmiuk. The politician recalled that “the inflation indicator does not reflect this situation, it is manipulated.”

Huge Price Hikes Ahead of the Holidays

Contrary to the narrative of politicians from the December 13 Coalition, this year’s Christmas holidays will turn out to be more expensive for many Poles than last year. The cost of food products necessary to prepare traditional Christmas Eve dishes has clearly increased, which household budgets will feel directly.

According to the latest report by the PanParagon app, the increase in carp prices is particularly noticeable. This year, the median price of 100 grams of fillet amounted to PLN 5.49, compared with PLN 4.49 a year earlier. This represents an increase exceeding 22 percent. As a result, the total cost of a basket consisting of the 10 analyzed products rose from PLN 125.94 to PLN 135.42, meaning a year-on-year increase of 7.53 percent.

The huge price hikes in shops ahead of the holidays were addressed by Law and Justice (PiS) MP Zbigniew Kuźmiuk in a recording published on social media.

We will have the most expensive holidays in history. You are all already experiencing this – you are shopping and seeing how much the food products necessary for Christmas Eve dinner cost, he emphasized.

He recalled that “the inflation indicator does not reflect this situation, it is manipulated – the share of spending on food and energy carriers in the shopping basket has been reduced, and thanks to this Tusk can boast about low inflation, whereas the situation is exactly the opposite.”

Inflation is unfortunately rising. What’s more, we are dealing with a decline in real wages and pension and disability benefits, because under Tusk it is as Rostowski once announced: ‘there is no money and there will be none’. So, expensive, more expensive – Tusk, he concluded.
