Von der Leyen Congratulates Nawrocki: “A Signal to Tusk Not to Challenge the Outcome”

“Ursula von der Leyen was among the first international leaders to congratulate Karol Nawrocki. In my view, this serves as a signal to Donald Tusk not to even consider challenging the result—it’s a clear-cut case. Karol Nawrocki has won. The position of the United States is also highly significant,” said Jan Kanthak, a Law and Justice (PiS) MP, during the program Polityczna Kawa hosted by Tomasz Sakiewicz on TV Republika.

Silni Razem and Allegations of Election Fraud

Politicians affiliated with the Civic Platform (PO) party, as well as sympathetic circles such as the Silni Razem movement, have been promoting a narrative on social media alleging electoral fraud in the presidential election won by Dr. Karol Nawrocki. In an article published on Friday, it was demonstrated how claims of supposed irregularities in polling station protocols have been constructed. Experts point out that minor protocol errors occurred in favor of both candidates, and the scale of these discrepancies is negligible compared to Nawrocki’s margin of victory over Rafał Trzaskowski.

Leading these efforts is attorney Roman Giertych and his organization SnaW (Election Monitoring Network), who are circulating claims online of altered results and a reduced number of votes compared to the first round, always suggesting that these issues disproportionately harm Rafał Trzaskowski.

The actions of the December 13 Coalition were addressed on Polityczna Kawa. MP Jan Kanthak described the activities of Roman Giertych and the Silni Razem sect as “utter madness.”

“I had serious concerns before the election about whether, in the event of a Nawrocki victory, the result would be accepted by the December 13 Coalition. I did not anticipate several factors that, in my view, will lead to the result being recognized. I don’t want to cause unnecessary anxiety about ‘what may come.’ I believe the election will be accepted for several reasons. The first is their reaction to the exit poll results. I think it worked out quite well that at 9 p.m., Rafał Trzaskowski was initially presented as the winner. They publicly stated that they would recognize the legality of the election. Once the final count showed Karol Nawrocki had won, the situation had already progressed beyond reversal,” he emphasized.

He went on to say, “The second key factor is that Ursula von der Leyen—the President of the European Commission and a major authority figure for them—was one of the first international leaders to officially acknowledge and congratulate Karol Nawrocki. In my assessment, this sends a clear signal to Donald Tusk: do not even attempt to contest this result. The outcome is definitive—Karol Nawrocki has won. And of course, the position of the United States must not be overlooked. The fact that U.S. congressmen reacted during the campaign to the issue of illegal financing in Rafał Trzaskowski’s campaign sent a strong message to Brussels bureaucrats: do not try to experiment with a ‘Romanian scenario’ in Poland. I believe that was a very clear signal. Despite Roman Giertych’s scheming, they will have no choice but to accept the will of the Polish people.”

Polska 2050 MP Gramatyka: “Karol Nawrocki Won This Election”

Polska 2050 MP Michał Gramatyka also addressed Donald Tusk’s recent statement in which Tusk warned that “assuming in advance that the election was rigged is harmful to the Polish state.”

Gramatyka also noted that “Professor Przemysław Biecek conducted a statistical analysis of all the polling stations where suspicious results occurred—and it turned out to be only a tiny fraction of votes.”

“Karol Nawrocki won this election. There was no election rigging. There is still time to submit electoral complaints, which will be adjudicated by the Supreme Court. The National Electoral Commission did an excellent job. The fact that official results were announced the very next day proves it can be done. In my opinion, spreading claims of election fraud is as irresponsible as what Mr. Jarosław Kaczyński did in 2014,” he stated.
