    Wagner Group Members to Face Trial in Krakow for Espionage and Recruitment Activities

    On September 9th, the District Court in Krakow is set to commence the trial of two Russian nationals, members of the notorious Wagner Group, accused of espionage and recruiting mercenaries in Poland. The defendants, identified as Aleksei T. and Andrei G., face charges of acting on behalf of a foreign intelligence service and participating in an armed international organization with the intent to commit terrorist activities.

    The charges were formally brought in June by prosecutors from the Małopolska branch specializing in combating organized crime. The two men were apprehended by the Internal Security Agency (ABW) in August 2023 in Warsaw. If convicted, they could face up to 10 years in prison.
