“Away with the ETS, we are leaving it. Together with the people of ‘Solidarity’ here today in Warsaw, we declare to Mrs von der Leyen: we do not accept your climate religion, your left-wing ideology that is destroying Europe and destroying Poland,” said Prof. Przemysław Czarnek, MP of Law and Justice (PiS).
At 12:00 p.m., a demonstration organized by “Solidarity” began at Castle Square in Warsaw against the rule of Donald Tusk’s government. Thousands of “Gazeta Polska” club members are also taking part in the event.
In connection with the demonstration, MPs of Law and Justice (PiS) held a press conference. Mariusz Błaszczak stressed that “the disastrous government of Donald Tusk should step down as soon as possible; Donald Tusk’s government also threatens Poland’s security, not only energy security but also military security.”
“What is happening now in the international sphere, in relations with the United States, is Tusk’s fault. By attacking President Trump, Tusk has put the security of our homeland at risk,” he pointed out.
Prof. Przemysław Czarnek, Law and Justice (PiS) candidate for prime minister, reminded that the party has been calling for Poland’s withdrawal from the ETS since March 7.
Some try to criticize it, some try to ridicule it. It is nothing more than ordinary wind lobbyism, which ignores what the people of “Solidarity” are demonstrating for today – he emphasized.
He added that “if Polish companies are forced to keep paying for CO2 emission allowances, if we remain in the ETS, these people will soon be unemployed – employers, trade unionists, entrepreneurs, and those working in the energy sector are telling us this.”
In his view, Poland must leave the ETS system “immediately.”
Other European Union countries should be encouraged to leave the ETS. We must save the economy, industry, and Polish jobs. Away with the ETS, we are leaving it. Together with the people of “Solidarity,” we declare to Ursula von der Leyen here today in Warsaw: “we do not accept your climate religion, your leftist ideology that is destroying Europe and destroying Poland,” he stated.
He also recalled that “Poland has its own coal, its own resources, its own capacity to generate electricity that will be cheap and will not force people to invest in renewable energy sources, which simply do not work in Poland.”
