The Tatra Volunteer Mountain Rescue has declared a second-level avalanche risk in the Tatra Mountains.
The Institute of Meteorology and Water Management reported that on Sunday, the cloud cover will be significant, but there will be occasional clearings. Snow and rain, gradually transitioning into rain, will move from west to east.
In the eastern part of the country, only snow and a mix of snow and rain are forecasted throughout the day. In some places in the north and central regions, a snow cover of up to 10 cm may temporarily form. However, it will not last long due to the positive maximum temperature. Later in the day, these precipitation types will turn into warmer ones, leading to melting, said Jakub Gawron, a meteorologist from the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management, according to PAP.
In the morning, the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management issued first-level warnings for intense snowfall in the Pomeranian and West Pomeranian voivodeships, as well as in the northern counties of the Kuyavian-Pomeranian voivodeship. The warnings are in effect, depending on the location, until 3:00 PM or 5:00 PM.
