On August 6 at 10:00 a.m., Karol Nawrocki will be sworn in as President of the Republic of Poland before the National Assembly. What will the ceremony and the entire first day of his presidency look like?
The session of the National Assembly on August 6, 2025, will be opened and presided over by the Marshal of the Sejm, Szymon Hołownia, who will read out the wording of the oath.
The wording of the oath of office to be delivered by Karol Nawrocki, President of the Republic of Poland, is as follows:
“Assuming, by the will of the Nation, the office of President of the Republic of Poland, I solemnly swear to remain faithful to the provisions of the Constitution, to steadfastly safeguard the dignity of the Nation, the independence and security of the State, and that the good of the Homeland and the well-being of its citizens shall always be my supreme duty.”
President Karol Nawrocki may conclude the oath, and is expected to do so, with the phrase: “So help me God.”
The President may then address the parliamentarians and assembled guests with an inaugural speech. The final item on the agenda will be the reading of the protocol of the session by the secretary of the Assembly.
The next item on the schedule will be the newly inaugurated President’s journey to the Archcathedral Basilica of the Martyrdom of Saint John the Baptist. There, a solemn Holy Mass will be held for the intention of the Homeland and the President of the Republic of Poland.
Karol Nawrocki will then proceed to the Royal Castle, where he will receive the insignia of the Grand Master of the Order of the White Eagle and the Order of Polonia Restituta from Professor Michał Kleiber, the Chairman of the Chapter of the Order of the White Eagle.
President Karol Nawrocki will then go to Marshal Józef Piłsudski Square, where at 4:30 p.m. he will assume command as the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Poland.
