Who Will Confederation Support? First Signs Appear Online!

In the second round of Poland’s presidential election, Karol Nawrocki and Rafał Trzaskowski will face off. The big question on everyone’s mind: who will the Confederation back?

PKW Announces Official Results
According to the official figures released Monday by the National Electoral Commission (PKW), Civic Coalition’s candidate Rafał Trzaskowski secured 31.36% of the vote in the first round, while Karol Nawrocki, backed by Law and Justice (PiS), received 29.54%. Voter turnout stood at 67.31%.

Based on data from 100% of polling stations, Confederation candidate Sławomir Mentzen earned 14.81% of the vote, Grzegorz Braun (Confederation of the Polish Crown) got 6.34%, Third Way’s Szymon Hołownia received 4.99%, Adrian Zandberg of the Razem party garnered 4.86%, and New Left’s Magdalena Biejat achieved 4.23%.

The Second-Round Showdown
The conclusion is clear: the second round will see Rafał Trzaskowski go head-to-head with Karol Nawrocki. But who will the Confederation—and its voters—choose to support?

Opinions are divided, but on social media, some of the movement’s leaders are already signaling clearly that their favorite is definitely not the “Vice-Tusk.”

Let’s take a look:

“Congratulations to @SlawomirMentzen! A great result, the fruit of determination and very hard work. @KONFEDERACJA_ confirms its strong position as the third force and its ability to expand its voter base. It’s also encouraging to see the combined support for candidates from the right side of the spectrum. The second round is winnable!”

“I wouldn’t want Rafał Trzaskowski to win the second round! If he now pretends to have anything in common with right-wing views, it will be a COMEDY!”
— Krzysztof Bosak on Polsat News after the announcement of the presidential election exit polls

“Nawrocki is beating Trzaskowski, and @SlawomirMentzen has more support than Zandberg, Biejat, and Hołownia combined—not counting Braun, Stanowski, and Jakubiak. How to live with that, Mr. Rafał? Perhaps contempt for the majority of Poles and a lack of backbone at age 52 don’t help.”
