Widow of Charlie Kirk Delivers Powerful Message of Faith

Erika Kirk, the widow of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, delivered her first public speech two days after his tragic killing at Utah Valley University. Standing beside her husband’s empty studio chair, she vowed to continue his mission at Turning Point USA and emphasised her faith in the face of loss, promising that “the cries of this widow will echo around the world like a battle cry.”

On Friday, September 12, just two days after her husband was fatally shot on the Utah Valley University campus, Erika Kirk, widow of Charlie Kirk, founder and president of Turning Point USA, spoke publicly for the first time. Speaking at a podium bearing the words “May Charlie be received into the merciful arms of Jesus, our loving Savior,” she held in her hands the cross that had belonged to her husband.

Erika expressed gratitude to first responders and the family’s friends, especially President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance.

“Mr President, my husband loved you,”

she said.

She recalled Charlie’s convictions about family life:

“Charlie always said that if he ever ran for office, his top priority would be the revival of the American family.”

She quoted her husband’s favourite Bible verse from Ephesians 5:25: “Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her.” She added that, for Charlie, this verse reflected his life and sacrifice:

“My husband gave his life for me, for our nation, for our children. He showed true, boundless love.”

Despite her grief, Erika highlighted her faith:

“Our world is full of evil, but our God is so good. Incredibly good.”

She declared that she would not allow the movement her husband built to collapse.

“The cries of this widow will echo around the world like a battle cry. The movement my husband built will not die. It will become stronger, bolder, louder, and greater than ever before,” she stated.

She announced that Turning Point USA would continue its campus tours and the AmericaFest event, with more tours planned in the future.

“The radio show and podcast that made him so proud will continue,”

she added.

Erika admitted that she had not slept since her husband’s death but was striving to remain a present mother for their two young children.

She shared how her daughter Gigi asked, “Where is Daddy?” To which she replied: He’s on a work trip with Jesus, so he can afford your blueberry budget.”

Erika pledged to make Turning Point USA “the greatest thing this nation has ever seen.” She ended her speech with the words:

“May God bless you all, and may God bless America.”

Erika, formerly known as Erika Frantzve, married Charlie in May 2021. She was Miss Arizona USA, works as a real estate agent, founded a non-profit organisation, and hosts the Midweek Rise Up podcast. Charlie Kirk, who was 31, was the co-founder and president of Turning Point USA.
