    Winners of the 6th WAWA Bohaterom Award

    In a moving ceremony held at the Museum of the Polish Army on the Warsaw Citadel, the 6th edition of the WAWA Bohaterom Awards recognized individuals and organizations dedicated to preserving the memory of the Warsaw Uprising. Professor Piotr Gliński, Minister of Culture and National Heritage, presented the prestigious award to this year’s laureates.

    “This heartwarming event showcases our unwavering commitment to honoring the Warsaw Uprising’s memory. In recent years, numerous initiatives and organized support for the insurgents have emerged,”

    remarked Minister Gliński, praising the efforts to remember this pivotal moment in history.

    This award recognizes individuals and entities offering unwavering support to veterans, especially Warsaw Uprising insurgents, through various initiatives, events, and improved living conditions. This year’s winners emerged from a pool of 24 organizations, foundations, associations, and schools nominated by Warsaw Uprising veterans and the Ministry of National Defense.
