Woś’s Immunity, Charges Against Bąkiewicz. Ziobro Speaks Out: “On Tusk’s Orders”

“The illegally seized prosecution service now operates like an assembly line producing false charges. The targets are those who pose a real threat to this demoralized government,” wrote Zbigniew Ziobro on social media. The former minister of justice commented on prosecutorial actions taken against both Michał Woś and Robert Bąkiewicz.

Yesterday, the spokesperson for the Prosecutor General, Anna Adamiak, announced that a motion had been submitted to the Sejm to lift the parliamentary immunity of PiS MP Michał Woś in an investigation concerning the “legitimacy, legality, and economic prudence of actions” related to the management of the Prison Service during the PiS government, when Woś served as a deputy minister of justice.

The notifications, the prosecutor added, concerned suspicions of alleged abuse of power and failure to fulfill duties by Prison Service officers, as well as by the then deputy minister of justice who supervised that institution.

On the same day, charges were brought against Robert Bąkiewicz, leader of the Border Defense Movement. These included, among others, “incitement to murder Donald Tusk” and “incitement to hatred toward Germany.”

“Today we are dealing with a political circus, not justice,” Bąkiewicz commented.

Ziobro: The Prosecution Operates Like an Assembly Line

Referring to the recent actions of the prosecution service, former justice minister Zbigniew Ziobro published a post on the X platform.

“False charges against Polish patriots on Tusk’s orders. He fears Michał Woś because his parliamentary team exposes the scandals and affairs of this government—hence the absurd charges for his diligent and lawful performance of ministerial duties,” he wrote.

He continued: “The charges against Robert Bąkiewicz are revenge for defending the borders and blocking the illegal transfer of thousands of migrants into Poland by Germany. That is why Tusk invented a grotesque story about ‘incitement to his assassination.’”

In the former head of the justice ministry’s assessment, “the illegally seized prosecution service now operates like an assembly line producing false charges. The targets are those who pose a real threat to this demoralized government.”
