Several uncomfortable truths were voiced on the air of TVP Info in liquidation. Michał Mohammadreza Rezazadeh, author of the channel “Iranian in Poland,” recalled a report produced in Iran that, in his assessment, mirrored the narrative of the Islamic Republic. “I strongly doubted whether I should come here today,” he told the journalist.
The joint attack by Israel and the United States on the Iranian regime dominated media coverage in Poland. Television stations switched to special broadcast mode, providing ongoing reports on the situation in the Middle East.
Yesterday, before noon, Michał Mohammadreza Rezazadeh, an Iranian living in Poland who speaks Polish fluently, was invited to speak on TVP Info in liquidation. During the broadcast, he brought up one of the station’s previous reports on Iran.
“I seriously considered whether I should come here today, because earlier on TVP Info, I saw female journalists who traveled to Iran presenting a completely different narrative. I am very surprised by this […] TVP previously repeated the narrative of the Islamic Republic. I oppose disinformation and believe that the voice of the people must be heard. It’s not always about politics,”
he pointed out to the journalist.
Rezazadeh additionally safeguarded himself against potential manipulation of his message. Simultaneously with the interview on TVP in liquidation, he launched a live broadcast on his own YouTube channel.
The controversy concerns coverage of the most recent anniversary of the revolution in Iran, as reported by Anna Kowalska, the station’s correspondent in Paris, for TVP in liquidation. “Anna Kowalska, who went to Iran, did not show the crying mothers. She did not talk about what Iranians are really struggling with. Instead, she put on a headscarf like the jihadist party,” Rezazadeh alleged.
