“You laughed at the keel, so now look.” The first ferry from the Law and Justice (PiS) program is already ready

“You laughed at the keel, so now look. The first Polish ferry from the Law and Justice (PiS) program,” wrote former minister Marek Gróbarczyk. He was referring to the ferry Jantar, which will soon operate the Świnoujście-Trelleborg route. Politicians from the current government are already preparing for the “ribbon-cutting.” Former Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki commented on this.

“You laughed at the keel, so now look”

The first Polish ferry from the PiS program, designed and built in a Polish shipyard, is moored in Szczecin at the Chrobry Embankment. The vessel will operate the Świnoujście-Trelleborg route for a Polish shipowner. I will also add that the second ferry, Bursztyn, is nearing completion. So perhaps it’s actually Tusk who should feel embarrassed…” wrote former Minister of Maritime Economy and Inland Navigation Marek Gróbarczyk on social media.

He thus recalled the investment launched by the government of the United Right. The course of the works was described in detail by Tomasz Duklanowski. The journalist from TV Republika specified that the contract for the construction was signed in November 2021, the steel cutting for the structure took place in 2022, “and the entire Batory program was launched under PiS.” He added that under the program at least three modern ferries are to be built.

The completion of the project was already boasted about by Deputy Minister of Infrastructure Arkadiusz Marchewka, ready for the “ribbon-cutting” of a project that was not his own. Former Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki commented on this on the X platform.

“I see that Donald Tusk and his team from time to time boast about investments that my government initiated or practically completed – this time it’s the ferry Jantar. No problem, but if I had known that investments from my time would have to suffice for the next government, we would have started even more of them,” wrote the former head of government.
