YouTuber “Budda” and partner will stay in custody amid organized crime and fraud allegations in Poland.
The District Court in Szczecin upheld a prior ruling to detain popular Polish YouTuber Kamil L., known as “Budda,” along with his partner, Aleksandra K. They are now set to remain in custody until January 11, 2025. The court cited a significant risk of evidence tampering or potential flight abroad as grounds for the decision.
Serious Allegations
Authorities allege that both Kamil L. and Aleksandra K. participated in an organized criminal group. This group is suspected of VAT tax fraud and running illegal online gambling activities. The case was brought to attention by the National Tax Administration, leading to the arrest of ten individuals and extensive searches.
Assets Secured
Investigators have reportedly secured assets totaling over 160 million PLN, including cash, real estate, vehicles, and gold bars. Although the initial three-month detention period was slightly shortened by one day, the court’s decision reflects the serious nature of the charges.
