Zmarzlik Triumphs at Toruń Grand Prix, Secures Fifth World Title

Polish speedway sensation Bartosz Zmarzlik capped off his triumphant season by winning the Grand Prix in Toruń, the final event of this year’s Speedway World Championship. Despite already securing his fifth world title two weeks earlier in Vojens, Zmarzlik demonstrated why he’s the top rider in the sport.

A Rocky Start and a Comeback

Zmarzlik’s journey in Toruń didn’t begin smoothly. In his first three races, he managed only one point each, placing him in a precarious position. However, a strong performance in his subsequent races, where he scored a three and a two, allowed him to squeeze into the semifinals in eighth place with eight points.

In the semifinals, Zmarzlik took second, but in the final race, he showcased his true skill. He took the top spot, with Denmark’s Leon Madsen finishing second, and Britain’s Daniel Bewley in third. Sweden’s Fredrik Lindgren placed fourth but secured third overall in the championship standings, while Britain’s Robert Lambert claimed the silver medal.
