“The younger generation is fed up with politicians constantly arguing among themselves,” thundered Rafał Trzaskowski in Tarnów. And indeed, they are: the best illustration of this came from none other than… Zorro, who appeared on the rooftop of a townhouse holding a banner that read “Anyone but Trzaskowski.” In doing so, he completely stole the show from the Civic Platform candidate.
Rafał Trzaskowski visited Tarnów yesterday, hoping to garner support from young voters. As he stated, “The younger generation is fed up with politicians constantly at odds with one another.”
What followed was a particularly peculiar portion of his speech, reminiscent of Bronisław Komorowski’s infamous and incoherent remarks known colloquially as “bigosowanie.” Trzaskowski spoke of “a country in which the most advanced technologies will develop, where we will not only invest in nuclear technologies, but also have specialists to carry them out; where we will not merely revive the Central Industrial District, but where industry and talent will flourish; where we will have a kind of Moon mission, just as our forefathers once fought for independence.”
At this point, however, few in the crowd — aside from Trzaskowski himself — were paying attention to these “lunar” musings. That’s because atop a townhouse overlooking the Tarnów market square appeared… Zorro, waving to the crowd beside a banner featuring the hashtag: “Anyone but Trzaskowski.”
Let us recall: Zorro is a fictional character who combats injustice, corruption, and oppression, wielding a rapier, cunning, and his iconic “Z” signature carved with a blade. He is recognizable by his black mask, cape, and wide-brimmed hat.
