    Saint Mary’s Basilica will be reopened soon

    Since June 1, St. Mary’s Basilica in Krakow will open to visitors who will be able to see the Altarpiece by Veit Stoss located in the centre of the church. 200 people can be inside the temple at the same time.

    The monument is undergoing several years of conservation, but it is carried out so that visitors can admire the sculptures that came out of the master’s hand. During the pandemic, work has been suspended. “Visitors are very welcome in our basilica. Their presence will be a sign of a return to normality”, the parish priest of St. Mary’s parish, Dr Dariusz Raś said today. The basilica will be available to tourists from Monday to Saturday from 11:30 am. to 4:30 pm. and on Sunday from 2 pm. to 4:30 pm. The sightseeing will take place with precautions. Tourists should wear masks and keep a proper distance, and disinfect their hands before entering. Individual and family visits will be possible, tour groups will not be accepted.
