US President, Donald Trump congratulated Andrzej Duda for his victory in the Polish presidential elections on Twitter. Trump also expressed his hope for a continuation of the strategic cooperation between Poland and the United States.
Other world leaders congratulate Andrzej Duda on his re-election – this time the US President, Donald Trump who emphasized that he is looking forward to continuing their fruitful cooperation regarding defense, trade, energy and telecommunication security.
The US President congratulated Andrzej Duda the moment of the announcement of the final results by the National Election Commission.
“Congratulations to my friend President @Andrzej Duda of Poland on his historic re-election! Looking forward to continuing our important work together across many issues, including defense, trade, energy, and telecommunication security!”, POTUS wrote on Twitter.
The Polish president and his US counterpart enjoy very close relations. On June 24th, just before the first round of the Polish presidential elections, Andrzej Duda together with his wife visited the United States at the invitation of President Trump. Duda was the first president to visit the White House since the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic. During the meeting, both presidents touched on the subjects of defense, energy and health safety, as well as the relocation of American soldiers from Germany to Poland, the construction of a nuclear power plant in Poland, and the work on a coronavirus vaccine. After the visit, Andrzej Duda gave assurances that Poland will be one of the first countries in the world to have access to the COVID-19 vaccine. During a joint press conference held in the Rose Garden, Trump emphasized the fact that the Polish-US relations are at their best in history.
