    Defense Minister Mariusz Błaszczak: according to the plan, there will be more US soldiers in Poland

    Everything according to the plan. There will be more US soldiers in Poland, the most important command of the ground forces in our region will be established, the head of the Ministry of National Defense, Mariusz Błaszczak, announced on Wednesday.

    On Wednesday, US Defense Minister Mark Esper announced that the Pentagon will start withdrawing about 12,000 US troops from Germany, 5,600 of whom will be directed to other NATO countries. Esper explained that US troops will move from Germany, among others to Belgium and Italy. In Italy, among others, F-16 fighters will be deployed, and the European Command of the United States (EUCOM), currently deployed in Stuttgart, Germany, will be transferred to the Belgian Mons. He also announced the strengthening of the US military presence in the Black Sea region. The head of the Pentagon also announced that the US side “plans to rotate to Poland +the lead element+ of the newly created commands of the US Army V Corps” after Warsaw signs “a defense cooperation agreement and a load-sharing agreement, as previously promised”.
