    United Cup 2023: Iga Świątek won against Martina Trevisan

    Iga Świątek has scored the first point for Team Poland in the United Cup Brisbane City Final against Italy today.

    World No.1 Iga Świątek dominated the court for a long time, but the end of the match was rather nervous.

    Eventually, Polish tennis player managed to surpass the Italian oponent and she scored a valuable point for Poland.

    “It was stressful. I feel Martina was really changing the rhythm well. At the end, I tried to be really solid.”

    said Iga Świątek after the match..

    “It became tight in the end and Martina really used her chances well. She could really give it all because I was the one that was leading. I’m happy that even though Martina came back in the second set, I was able to finish it.”

    she added.

    Wednesday full of emotions

    The matches of Hubert Hurkacz, Magda Linette and mix doubles will also take place today.

    Hubert Hurkacz will play against Matteo Berrettinim and Magda Linette will face Lucia Bronzetti.

    For now, in the mix double, Poland will be represented by Świątek and Hurkacz, while Italy is set to play Camillo Rosatello and Musetti.
