Krakow is the second-largest and one of the oldest cities in Poland. It is situated on the Vistula River in Malopolska Region (or sometimes called the Lesser Poland Province). Krakow was the official capital city of Poland until 1596 and was the second capital city in Poland’s history.
The city dates back to the 7th century and then became the capital city of Poland was named the Royal Capital City of Kraków. As is widely known, Krakow is the city of Polish kings, artists, and the seat of the most important cultural institutions. Today, it is one of the most important European metropolises. It is a unique treasury of works of art, historical memorabilia, and monuments that represent almost all architectural styles – from the Middle Ages to the present day.
