There is a temporary arrest for the engine driver who led to a collision between two freight trains in Dąbrowa Górnicza on Tuesday. Earlier, the man heard a charge of bringing about a land traffic disaster. He may face up to 10 years in prison.
The driver, who heard the charge, was drunk. The test showed that he had more than 2 per mill of alcohol in his body. Just before the accident, the man allegedly ignored a red light that prohibited him from entering a certain lane. This resulted in a collision with another train set.
After the collision, four cars derailed and two of them overturned. The coal they were carrying spilt onto the tracks. One of the locomotives was also damaged. Fortunately, there were no injuries.
