KGHM Polska Miedź S.A. supports the border guard service and the Polish army that defend Polish borders – among other things, thermoactive clothing, power banks, torches, hand warmers and foodstuffs have been donated to uniformed personnel.
“Today it is very important to support those who bravely defend our borders – as KGHM we have been donating for three weeks thermal sweatshirts, torches, hand warmers, thermoactive underwear or power banks for the Border Guard and the Polish Army. Thank you for your dedication”, said Marcin Chludziński, President of the Management Board of KGHM Polska Miedź S.A.
In this way, KGHM is responding to the appeal of Deputy Prime Minister Jacek Sasin, who called for solidarity and assistance for the officers stationed on the border with Belarus.
KGHM’s support was extended to the 15th Mechanized Brigade of the Polish Army. The border guards received several thousand hand warmers, thermal mugs, power banks, torches, foodstuffs, but also underwear and thermal sweatshirts.
KGHM is very actively involved in aid campaigns across the country. Since the beginning of the pandemic, the company has been supporting the government’s actions, e.g., by preparing two temporary hospitals in Lower Silesia or providing sanitary supplies to medical institutions, local government institutions and social welfare homes. The copper company assisted the elderly as part of the Solidarity Senior Support Corps. On an ongoing basis, through the Foundation, KGHM subsidises non-governmental organisations working on behalf of local communities.
