14 works by Marc Chagall have been placed in the collections of the National Museum in Warsaw, said Piotr Gliński, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Culture and National Heritage, during the presentation of works that will enrich the collection of the National Museum.

On Monday, at a press conference at the National Museum in Warsaw, some of Marc Chagall’s works, purchased for the collection of the National Museum in Warsaw, were presented to the public for the first time. The collection consists of fourteen colour works by Marc Chagall, from the last period of his work. Among them are graphics referring to the biblical theme, landscapes and still lives.

Marc Chagall was born in 1887 in Łoźna near Vitebsk to a Russian Hasidic family. He was a leading representative of cubism and internationalism in painting.
