The US racing team of former Formula 1 driver Ralf Schumacher announced that Kacper Sztuka, a 16-year-old Polish racing driver from Cieszyn, has become one of the drivers who will compete in this year’s Italian Formula 4 Championship under the colours of the German team. The season starts with the race on 8 May at the legendary Imola circuit.
Kacper Sztuka is the youngest Polish F4 racing driver. His adventure with motorsport began at the age of 4. At the beginning of his career, he competed in kart races in the Czech Republic, Austria and Italy, before going on to the Formula track all over Europe.
Today, Poland has the chance to have another Pole by the wheel of the car of the queen of motorsport, Formula One, in the coming years. The talent of Poland was recognised by the famous F1 driver Ralf Schumacher, currently co-owner of one of the best racing teams – the younger brother of the 7-time F1 world champion Michael Schumacher.
This year’s Kacper Sztuka season began with tests on the courses in Mugello and Spa. The tests were very promising at the race track in Spa, where he finally finished in third place. It was his first contact with the bolide.
After surprisingly good test results before the 2022 season, Kacper Sztuka signed a contract with US Racing, owned by Ralf Schumacher and Gerhard Ungar. This gives the young Pole a great chance to develop in the most popular field of motorsport in the world.
In the 2022 season, seven races of the Italian F4 Championship took place. The season starts on 8 May at the Imola Circuit. Afterwards, the riders will race on the Misano, Spa, Vallelunga, Spielberg and Monza circuits to finish the season in Mugello in October.
He is the winner of the referendum organised by Dziennik Zachodni on the greatest sporting talent of the Silesian Voivodeship of this year.
Since Robert Kubica, the 16-year-old Kacper Sztuka is another Polish driver who has the chance to drive in Formula One.
“At the age of 16, under the direction of Ralf Schumacher, driving in one of the best F4 teams and at the same time in the best F4 league in the world is a dream that comes true. I have been working hard to achieve my goal for many years. The only goal I have is – Formula One! Many thanks to all who believe in me and support me – I will not fail,” said Kacper Sztuka.
