“Our geopolitical situation leaves us no choice, so we want to have an army of 300,000 soldiers,” the Deputy Minister of National Defense Marcin Ociepa told Polsat News.
At the same time, Vice-Minister Ociepa stressed that the Polish army was becoming increasingly modern.
“The next purchases, the last Abrams, but also the others, which were Himarsa, Patriots, F-35, serve to protect Poland. However, the new law also introduces basic but voluntary conscription, which means that each of us can train up to 12 months of military capabilities and replenish the reserve that the state can draw upon if necessary,” the Minister of National Defense has stressed.
