Anita Włodarczyk and Wojciech Nowicki showed their excellent form and secured their position at the 2022 World Athletics Continental Tour Gold in Nairobi, Kenya on May 7. Both Włodarczyk and Nowicki took first place in their categories. Also, this year Nowicki achieved the greatest result of 81,43 meters.

Anita Włodarczyk is a 37 yo Polish hammer thrower. She also is 2012, 2016, and 2020 Olympic champion, and the first woman in history to throw the hammer over 80 m. She currently holds the women’s world record of 82.98 m. What’s more, she is considered to be the greatest women’s hammer thrower of all time.

Wojciech Nowicki won the gold medal at the 2020 Summer Olympics and bronze medals at the 2016 Summer Olympics, 2015, 2017, and 2019 World Championships. His personal best in the event is 82.52 meters set in 2021 at the Olympic Games in Tokyo.

Moreover, in the next months, Anita Włodarczyk will give us more sports emotions at the following meetings. According to the worldathletics.org:

Seven stars – including world record-holders Anita Wlodarczyk, Mondo Duplantis and Ryan Crouser – have been announced for the Gyulai Istvan Memorial when the World Athletics Continental Tour Gold meeting returns in Szekesfehervar on 8 August. Poland’s hammer throwing great Wlodarczyk is already a six-time winner at the Gyulai Istvan Memorial, having triumphed in 2021 as well as each year from 2014 to 2018. Now she heads to Szekesfehervar as a three-time Olympic champion and will have the opportunity to add to her four world titles at the World Athletics Championships Oregon22 in July, three weeks before the meeting in Hungary.

This week, Wojciech Nowicki will compete in Poland, Suwałki.

Next Sunday – May 15, Suwałki fans will see over a hundred competitors in action, participating in 13 throwing, running, and jumping competitions.
