The last day of the World Economic Forum in Davos was marked, on the one hand, by criticism of some European countries by Ukrainian leaders, and, on the other, with intense attempts to find a consensus on further sanctions against Russia. The topic of helping Ukraine and taking further action against Russia was continued during the G7 summit of environment ministers in Berlin.

The imposition of another EU sanctions package on Russia, including the introduction of an oil embargo, is still blocked by the countries that are most dependent on Russian gas – namely Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Hungary.
