    Will Sievierodonetsk become another Mariupol?

    It is the 110th day of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine. “The occupying forces are focusing on offensive operations to encircle our troops in the areas of Sievierodonetsk and Lysychansk, and to block logistics routes from Bakhmut,” the General Armed Forces of Ukraine informed. “From a humanitarian point of view, the situation in Sievierodonetsk in Luhansk region resembles that of besieged Mariupol,” Yuri Sak, an adviser to Ukraine’s defence minister, concluded in an interview with Deutsche Welle

    “There are without significant changes in the Volyn, Polissya and Siversky directions. In the Siversky direction, Russian occupiers fired artillery and mortars at the positions of the Defense Forces in the area of ​​Hrinivka, Chernihiv oblast,” the General Armed Forces of Ukraine informed in its morning post on Facebook.

    “In the Kharkiv direction, Russian enemy units continue to focus their main efforts on conducting positional defence and preventing the further advance of our troops to the State Border of Ukraine. Russian enemy carried out assault operations in the direction of Ternov – Izbytske had partial success and established itself on its northern outskirts. They remotely mined possible routes of deployment of our units in the area of ​​the settlement of Petrivka, 20 km east of Stary Saltiv.     Sak said the situation in the city is “very, very difficult.” He pointed out that Ukraine’s armed forces control the Azot chemical plant, where several hundred civilians found shelter.
