Polish women became Rugby Europe 7s champions! [VIDEO]

The Polish women’s national rugby 7s team secured the title of European champions during the final tournament played in Krakow. The success of the charges of coach Janusz Urbanowicz was determined by a 14:0 semi-final victory against Scotland.

The European Rugby Sevens Championship is played in a two-tournament format, with the final order determined by their combined results. A week ago, the Polish women won the tournament in Lisbon.

This is a historic success for the Polish rugby 7s team, an Olympic discipline. Last year the white and reds were European vice-champions.

“I promised we would put all our hearts into it and we did so. We played our rugby hard in defence, tried to unleash in attack and the better player won,” said player Natalia Pamieta.

In the final of the Krakow tournament (kick-off at 4:15 p.m.), the Poles will face the Irish, who beat the Spanish 26:0 in the semi-final. It will be a rematch for the defeat in Saturday’s group match, in which the white and reds lost 0:21.
