Today ends the 31st Jewish Culture Festival in Kraków

The 31st Jewish Culture Festival in Kraków comes to an end. The festival was held between June 24th and July 3rd in Kraków’s Jewish quarter – Kazimierz. This year’s edition referred to water and its ritual and religious symbolics, functions and connotations. The connection between water and climate changes was also the issue of the festival.

Jewish Culture Festival in Krakow is the largest presentation of contemporary culture created by the Jews in Israel and the entire Diaspora (…) Jewish Culture Festival in Krakow presents the diversity and beauty of the Jewish culture from all around the globe. Israel has become our main point of reference as a place, where it naturally grows and develops. (

The festival was first organized by Janusz Makuch and Krzysztof Gierat in order to present Jewish contributions to the country’s development. In the very beginning, it was a small and local event, but now it is one of the significant cultural events in Poland. There are almost 300 events during 10 days every year.
