The idea of creating an international movement for protecting heritage emerged after World War I. The 1972 Convention concerning the Protection of the World Cultural and Natural Heritage developed from the merging of two separate movements: the first focusing on the preservation of cultural sites, and the other dealing with the conservation of nature. On July 13, 2006 the Centennial Hall was registered on this prestigious site. It is located in Wrocław, a city in southwestern Poland and the largest city in the historical region of Silesia.

Wrocław is a university city full of students. According to Wikipedia, a student population there is over 130,000 which makes it arguably one of the most youth-oriented cities in Poland. Also, the city is full of business centres and it could be considered as a perfect city for new start-ups, not only oriented to University of Wrocław graduates. However, since the beginning of the 20th century, the University of Wrocław, previously Breslau University, has produced nine Nobel Prize laureates and is renowned for its high quality of teaching and we can assume that many of the excellent, high-educated people stay in the city. Wrocław also possesses numerous historical landmarks, including the Main Market Square, Cathedral Island and the Centennial Hall listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
