Poland defeated Austria 3:0 in the third match of the group stage of the U22 Men’s European Championships, which began on Tuesday at the Arena Jaskółka in Tarnów. The White Reds finished second in the group and were promoted to the semi-finals of the European Championship.
The first part of the match started very well for the White Reds. They played strongly and maintained good efficiency in the first action. The Austrians tried to keep up with their rivals. In the middle of the first set, they managed to reduce the gap to one point. By winning this one set, the Polish team has already secured second place in Group II of the U22 Men’s European Championships.
The second set was a rollercoaster. At the very beginning, the Poles played very well. Then, they started making simple mistakes and Austrians took advantage of it. Eventually, the very nervous ending was won by the Polish team.
The coach of the Polish national team made several changes in the line-up in the third set. The Polish team quickly took the lead at 7:3. The White-Reds felt very confident in every element and did not slow down. The Polish team, cheered on by their fans, won the third set in great style to 17.
