According to the interview with Emilia Babska on aps.edu.pl, she gave following answer to the question:
‘Why is competing with others important?’
Yes. It is very important. When I train alone in the club and see that my results are improving, of course I am satisfied, but it does not give me the whole picture of my form. It doesn’t show me where I am actually. The fact that I improve my results is one thing, but it is quite different when I go to competitions, face people who often train longer, have more or similar experience and see how they compete with each other. The greatest satisfaction for me is medals and achievements in the international competitions.
