The Polish men’s volleyball team lost 0:3 to the USA in the semi-finals of the Nations League in Bologna. The third set was particularly painful for the world champions. Tomorrow, the white-and-red team will fight for the bronze medal in the prestigious competition.
The history of the rivalry between the volleyball teams of Poland and the USA is long. Saturday’s Nations League semi-final in Bologna was no different. The opening set belonged to the World Champions, but then the rivals began to take control and eventually won the set.
In the second set, the Americans were still in the game, and at the end of the set, the score was again tied. In the decisive actions, it was the American team that kept a cool head.
Coach Nikola Grbić tried to mobilise the team in the third set. The rivals, on the other hand, propelled themselves with every successful action and quickly took a lead.
The Poles will fight for the bronze medal in the Volleyball Nations League tomorrow (July 24).
