It was a great race for the Polish representatives! Janusz Kołodziej won the second round of the TAURON Speedway Euro Championship 2022 cycle in Güstrow, Germany. Patryk Dudek took 2nd place on the podium and Daniel Bewley was the 3rd.
Final classification:
1. Janusz Kołodziej – 15 (3,0,3,3,3,3) – 1st place in the final
2. Patryk Dudek – 14 +2 (3,2,2,3,2,2) – 2nd place in the final
3. Daniel Bewley – 12 +3 (1,3,1,3,3,1) – 3rd place in the final
Janusz Kołodziej brought home a set of points from as many as four of the five races he rode. This gave the Pole a handicap at the end of the regular phase, when he, Leon Madsen and Patryk Dudek each had 12 points. Kołodziej directly advanced to the finals, along with Madsen, who was pushed by a win in race 9 against the popular “Duzers.” (speedwayeuro.com)
The final race had to be repeated due to an uneven start (Janusz Kołodziej and Leon Madsen received warnings). However, it wasn’t an obstacle for our Polish speedway rider and it didn’t prevent his victory!
Kołodziej acknowledged his fans for the cheering on his official Facebook account:
“Janusz Kołodziej wins the 2nd round of the Tauron Speedway Euro Championship in Gustrow with a score of 12 points in the main phase (3,0,3,3,3) +3 for a victory in the final. In the general classification Kołodziej (“Koldi”) leads with a score of 29 points. Thanks for the cheering”
