Israeli forces have killed two leaders of Islamic militants in the Gaza Strip. Innocent civilians also suffered the missile attacks. In response to the airstrikes, the Islamic Jihad organization fired more than four hundred missiles into Israel. Most of them were intercepted by the missile defence system.
The first attack by Israeli forces took place on Friday night. One of the leaders of the Islamic Jihad, Taisir al-Jabari, was killed there. Another militant leader, Khaled Mansour, was killed in another raid on Saturday evening. Israel carried out the operation as a pre-emptive attack as Islamic Jihad announced retaliation on Tuesday for the arrest of one of its leaders, Bassam Saadi, on Monday.
