EuroBasket2022: The Polish national basketball team will play for the bronze medal of the championships on Sunday

The White and Reds lost to France 54:95, but the team of coach Igor Milicic does not hang their heads. “Recently, we have been able to get up after high defeats. I hope that it will be so the next time,” said Michał Sokołowski in an interview for TVP Sport.

The Polish team had huge problems, especially in the attack. After 20 minutes of the meeting, it had collected a mere 18 points. It was unable to force the extremely tight and physical French defence. One of the NBA’s best defenders Rudy Gobert did not allow the Poles under his rim. He recorded three blocks and collected more balls with ease. 

In the first half, coach Igor Milicic’s team had a huge problem with creating an open shooting position. Our players tried to hit through the opponent’s hands, often in the last seconds of the action. The ball was not falling into the basket, and after each subsequent action, the French propelled themselves.

The next match for the bronze medal of EuroBasket2022 will take place on Sunday, 18th September at 5.15 PM GMT + 1. The Poles will face Germany, who won today’s quarter-final against the Spanish team by a margin of five points.
