On September 29 and 30, the 4th edition of the #sadziMY campaign will take place. The climax of the action is scheduled for Friday, September 30 near Nowy Sącz. Presidential Couple will plant trees there.
On this occassion, foresters prepared a million trees. Anyone willing on September 29 and 30 between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. can go to the nearest forest inspectorate to pick up tree seedlings.
Acting Director General of the State Forests, Józef Kubica noted that 500 million trees are planted in forests every year.
“Thanks to our work, the area of forests and their wealth are growing. However, all Poles can help us to ensure that there are as many trees in the country as possible. I encourage you to take a tree seedling from foresters and plant it on your own plot, at the house or where we work”, he said.
Foresters will distribute seedlings free of charge. On the Forest Data Bank website, you can check where the headquarters of forest districts are located. It is a good idea to bring your own packaging to collect the trees, which will protect the tree roots from drying out. The trees can be stored for several days before planting, by laying them flat on the ground and sprinkling the roots with moist sand. (PAP)
