“Thank you, USA,” those are the words of Civic Platform’s MEP Radosław Sikorski on Twitter, attaching a photo of the site of the Nord Stream gas leak. The politician suggested that the Americans were behind the attack on the gas pipeline. The words of the former head of Polish diplomacy have already been used by Russian propaganda.

A spokeswoman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Maria Zakharova, has just officially commented. “Is it an official statement on this being a terrorist attack?” she asked, sharing Sikorski’s tweet.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman, Maria Zakharova, quoting Sikorski’s message, recalled that he was the former head of Polish diplomacy.

“Ex Polish FM, now European MP Radoslaw Sikorski has thanked the US for today’s incident at the Russian gas pipeline (Nord Stream 2). Is it an official statement on this being a terrorist attack?” we read in the official message from the Russian foreign ministry on Twitter.

Earlier, the former head of Polish diplomacy was thanked by… the first deputy representative of Russia to the UN, Dmitry Polyanskiy, for pointing out the ‘guilty parties’. The two know each other very well. Polyanskiy was the deputy Russian ambassador to Warsaw when Sikorski was head of the Polish foreign ministry.
