Virtual scenarios of real threats, protection against cyber-attacks, and exchange of experience – the largest Cyber Field Training organized by KGHM Polska Miedź S.A. has been completed. This was a workshop for the teams responsible for cyber security at state-owned companies that are members of the ISAC-GIG and those operating in the energy sector.
The ISAC-GIG is the Information-Sharing and Analysis Center for the mining sector.
“I’m glad that the KGHM organized the first workshop of this kind – the first cyber training field intended for companies operating in key economic sectors. This form of capability enhancement allows for competition between teams while providing an interesting form of active exercise, as well as contributing to the strengthening of the integration of the cyber security community, which then facilitates the necessary interaction in this sphere. This is especially important now, with a war going on across our eastern border. We cannot avoid the dangers present in the virtual space and we must be prepared. We need to act together,” said Tomasz Zdzikot, Vice President for Development at KGHM Polska Miedź S.A.
The Cyber Field Training is a workshop that served to prepare teams from individual companies for cyber threats. Attack scenarios were prepared for the participants, which required a quick response and decisions crucial to the organizations concerned. The training provided an opportunity to apply the participants’ experiences and to learn new solutions.
The event was attended by representatives of eight major companies operating in the energy and mining sectors. The event was held under the honorary patronage of the Ministry of State Assets and the Central Mining Institute – Research Institute.
