Employers willing to hire retirement-aged staff could receive a PLN 1,800 (EUR 370) support bonus per employee over 24 months under a new government plan, the Fakt reported on Tuesday.
The bonus, designed to encourage the employment of older staff, is part of broader legislation aimed at increasing the professional participation of the elderly in the workforce.
“The legislation, currently under preparation, is one of the “milestones” Poland needs to fulfil to unblock funding from an EU post-pandemic recovery fund,” Fakt stressed.
The tabloid added that employers who decided to take the bonus would be obliged to employ the elderly staff for whom the money was received for over at least 12 months after the expiry of the bonus.
