    80th Krakow Nativity Scenes Contest

    On Sunday, the Museum of Krakow announced the winners of the 80th competition of Nativity Scenes. 142 handmade works were created by children, seniors and students who took part in the contest.

    Some Nativity Scenes were modelled on St. Mary’s Basilica. The competition included five categories: seniors, youth, family, children, individuals and school. Dozens of prizes and distinctions were awarded.

    The participants created 142 Christmas Cribs, accordingly 59 cribs in the senior category, 7 cribs in the youth category, 24 cribs in the family category, 20 cribs in the individuals category and 32 cribs in the school category.

    The Minister of Culture and National Heritage awarded medals to the winners. Also, the badges from the Mayor of the City of Krakow were given. Among others, the Medal of Merit for Polish Culture was awarded to Wiesław Barczewski, Marek Głuch, Zbigniew Grzech, Anna Malik, Marek Markowski, Andrzej Wróbel and Leszek Zarzycki. On behalf of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage, the medals were presented by the Governor of the Lesser Poland Voivodeship, Łukasz Kmita.
