Ligue 1, officially known as Ligue 1 Uber Eats for sponsorship reasons, is a French professional league for men’s association football clubs. At the top of the French football league system, it is the country’s primary football competition. A Polish football player Przemysław Frankowski was most liked by French fans in the vote and received the award Surprise of the Season! Frankowski scored 32,9% of the votes and defeated such famous football players as Clermont Mohamed Bayo, Lucas Perrin from RC Strasbourg and Nuno Mendes from PSG.

The 27-year-old player Przemysław Frankowski was transferred from Jagiellonia Białystok to Chicago Fire, an American club in January 2019. Then, he accepted the offer received from RC Lens, a French football club. His performance in RC Lens was wonderful and he ended the season with 6 goals and 5 assists in 37 league games played.
These achievements turned out to be enough to gain sympathy in the eyes of Ligue 1 fans, who chose Frankowski as the greatest Surprise of the Season. Receiving this award by the 27-year-old means that he defeated his biggest competitor and his clubmate – Nuno Mendes.
